History

 

…..On 20th August 1989 MCBS Congregation was entrusted with the charge Holy Name of jesus Catholic Church, Abu Road . This Church was founded by the end of 18 th century. There are about 50 families in the parish. This parish belongs to the jurisdiction of Ajmer Diocese. The presbytery is erected as the MCBS House, Abu Road .

…..St. Anselm’s School was established on 1 st July 1988 by the Diocese of Ajmer-Jaipur, and it is entrusted to MCBS Fathers in 1999. It is a co-educational English Medium school, affiliated to CBSE Delhi with the strength of 1400 students from classes Nursery to XII. Now it is a full fledged school up to Senior Secondary level with the streams of Science and Commerce. Members of Mission Sisters of Ajmer (MSA) are giving their service both in parish and school from the beginning of this mission.

History

 

…..The house, in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam, was started on 15th August 1981. The Patron of the House is St. Joseph. The main plot was donated by Varghese Ouseph Mattekkaden. The chapel and the ground floor of the house were completed in 1985 and the Lisieux Boy’s Town was shifted to here from Athirampuzha. The first floor of the house was completed in 1981.

History

.. Holy Family MCBS Ashram, in the diocese of Kanjirappally, was established in 2007. The chapel was blessed by Mar. Mathew Arackal, Bishop of Kanjirapally on 04 th May, 2007. This land was donated by the Ettolil Family for charitable purpose and social activities.

ATHIRAMPUZHA, Lisieux Minor Seminary,   Estd. 1936.

History

 

…..Lisieux Ashram erected in 1936, is in the Archdiocese of Changanacherry. From 1958 to 1969 it functioned as the Minor Seminary of the Congregation. In 1977 the Lisieux Boy’s Town was started here. In 1987 the Boys Town was shifted to Anappara and once again Lisieux became the Minor Seminary. The chapel was reconstructed and consecrated in 1987 and an extension for the seminary was completed in 1988. Fr. Joseph Peediekal, one of the early members, lies buried here. In 2002, Lisieux Parish was erected. The seminary was renovated again in the year 2007.

History

 

.. Through the initiative of Fr. Joseph Pandiappallil, Emmaus Province made contract with the Archdiocese of Munich in 2001 and started a community in Munich where three of our priests can live together as a community and one of them can be the administrator of the parish St. Quirin. This beautiful parish-house in the city of Munich offers possibility for our priests to stay there and learn German language and for visitors to spend a short period. From 2001 to 2009, seven of our priests have made use of this possibility to spend their first year in Germany in this house and to learn the language, culture and style of parish work and all these members of our congregation were appointed in parishes in the archdiocese of Munich and in the diocese of Speyer.

History

 

…. Barshi is a major junction for trade between the districts of Osmanabad, Latur and Solapur. It has been a commercial center from the British Rule. This town is well connected with Railway and National High way. We had taken a house on rent in 2003, and did pastoral service to the catholics.In 2007 we have purchased 10 acres of land for a school. A CBSE syllabus school was started in a rented building in June 2007. In the same year, Franciscan Sisters of Dillingen started working in the school. The school building was constructed in the year 2008 and it is shifted to the new building in June 2008. The Deena Bandhu Samaj Sisters also started a convent in Barshi in June 2008. There is a vibrant parish attached to this centre.

…..On 29th June 2006, MCBS Emmaus Province made a contract with the Bishop of Pescara Penne to have a community of MCBS Priests to do pastoral service in the Diocese, with its seat in Castilenti.  On 15th July 2006 the Emmaus Provincial Superior appointed Fr. Tomy Plathottam as the superior of the community and the contact person between the Emmaus Province and the Archdiocese of Pescara-Penne, with effect from the 1st of September 2006.

History

 

….Karunya Niketan is a new venture of MCBS which runs as a branch of our ashram at Chennaippara. Started by the initiatives of the youth at Chengallur, Karunya Niketan tries to provide medicine and shelter to the mentally retarded people in and around the area. In 2002 Karunya Chariteble Society was registered. In 2004 it owned 35 cents of land. On 21st December 2006, Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy, the Archbishop of Trichur blessed the centre and some patients were shifted to here from our Chennaippara Ashram. The centre is functioning on the basis of agreement made between the society and MCBS which says that the MCBS will provide priests to direct and co-ordinate the functions of the centre. At present there are 18 patients looked after here.

History

 

….. With the aim of starting a centre for the renewal and rehabilitation of the abandoned and wandering beggars a suitable plot of land was procured at Chennaipara in Thrissur district.  This centre had its humble beginning on 18th January 1994 in the presence of Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta.  In the working of the centre there is the collaboration of lay brethren through the association called ‘Friends of the Birds of the Air’ (F.B.A.).  There is the assistance of S.A.B.S. Congregation.

…..MCBS Snehatheeram at Cherthala was blessed by Bp. Mar Thomas Chakiath on 02nd December 2006.  Snehatheeram stands for the upliftment of the fisher folks in and around Alappuzha district. Under the banner of ‘Eucharistic Boys Association’ every fortnight children gather here.

History

 

…..This house, in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam, was blessed and inaugurated by Mar Thomas Chakiath on 28th March, 2005. MCBS Emmaus Province has received this property from Mr. Mathew J. Kollamparabil with the purpose of using it for religious and charitable purposes. We have initiated it as a center for the ongoing theological and spiritual training of the clergy and laity involved in pastoral issues. Likewise this house functions as the office of Karunikan (Theological  Journal), Karunikan Books, and supports the new initiative of Smart Family, a professional family magazine in the secular format.

JALORE, MCBS House          Estd. 2003

History

 

…..Missionary zeal and enthusiasm prompted M.C.B.S. Fathers at Rajastan to open a new mission station at Jalore in Ajmeer Diocese. We purchased about 8 acres of land in Jalore by the side of Sera Mandir in 2003. The work for the School building and the House will be completed soon. St. Mary’s Church, Jalore was erected in 2004. We have around 50 participants for the Sunday Eucharistic Celebration. St. Paul School had its birth in 2004 and is situated near  Jalore Railway station. We have students from Nursery to Class VI now. At present we run the parish as well as the school in rented buildings. The mission station at Bhilmal is visited regularly by our Fathers from Jalore and Eucharist is celebrated there on every Sunday. On 20th February 2009, 4 acres of land was purchased.

History

…..In order to start a Centre for Eucharistic Apostolate the land at Thannipuzha, near Kalady, in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam was purchased in 1991.  The Centre was blessed and inaugurated by Mar Jacob Manathodath on 7th August 1995.  It is now, a residential Eucharistic Retreat Centre. Divyakarunya Niketan, a centre for Eucharistic studies and research was blessed on 23rd February 2008.
